Quick Review: Inception

Inception was great. Story was confusing but I liked it overall. It's has the best special effects I've seen in a long time. Mind blowing and leaves you on the edge of your seat. I do wish it was cut down a bit. I liked all the characters especially Leonardo's character. My two friends hated it because they said it was boring. Some of it was, but I enjoyed the rest of the film. 8.5/10

Quick Review: Toy Story 3

The best film of the "tear" has arrived. Woody and Buzz return for one more adventure and boy is it a big one. You get all the original voice except Slinky. You even get a cameo from Sid Phillips as a garbage man. So the toys have to escape a day care center to get home to Andy before he goes off to college. Woody ends up meeting new toys when a little girl(Bonnie) takes him home. I loved all the new toys especially Ken. So the intro was my favorite. It's like the director is bringing you a piece of nostalgia (Toy Story 1 & 2) and smashing it into one. Overall best introduction to any film this year. Now the ending should give this film an Oscar. I have not cried at a movie since Revenge of the Sith. It's that emotional. It like takes you to your childhood and flashes to the special times in your life all until that moment in
the theater. For an animated film, it's fantastic. A perfect 10/10

Quick Review: The Expendables

The Expendables was pretty good. A few problems I had with the film was the action scenes. They were very shaky at times. The story was pretty simple. Guy meets girl and girl gets kidnapped and guy saves the day with a bunch of other tough guys. I like the fact that this is the first and only time all these men are together in one movie because it's very hard to get every action star of the 80s and 90s+ in the first place. Mickey Rourke was my pick for this film. Even though he's not in it so much, there is one scene where he tells a emotional story. Kinda cheesy but it gets you man. Terry Crews surprised me. He's usually the comic relief(he still is) but this time he's total bad ass. He was featured in my favorite part of the film. I think you will figure out what Im talking about. Overall it's a fun action move with alot of explosions and awesome bad ass boys. 7.7/10

Quick Review: Scott Pilgrim vs. The World

Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World is an amazing movie. The special effects and characters are great. The dialog is witty and hilarious. I liked the music the most. It's one of the best movie soundtracks I've ever heard. It's the finale of the summer movie season and one of the best. 9.7/10

Iron Man 2 Movie Review

Iron man 2 was alot of fun. I saw it tonight at 6 with my friend Matt, who I saw the 1st one with two years ago.

So this sequel may not be as good as the previous film, but it was extremely entertaining. I loved the special effects and the villians. The main problem I had was the story. It went everywhere. But the film manages to save those scenes with action packed special effects that go way beyond the first film.
I enjoyed Scarlett Johanson as Black Widow. What a great performance. Robert Downey Jr was good returning to to suit. Don Chedle played a better War Machine than Terrance Howard ever would have. Gweneth Paltrow was pretty annoying. She was another problem I had with the movie. All she did was complain to Tony the whole movie. It got on my last nerves.

Many people said the end was bad, I disagree. Yes the battle was short but the special effects saved it. Bravo War Machine/Iron Man Team up. My favorite scene was during the end battle when Iron Man blasts off his lasers destroying all the robots.

This film kicked off my summer and I hope you will feel the same kick as I did.

Final rating 8.5/10

P.S: stay after the credits like you did in the first movie.

Summer 2012: The Summer of Superheroes!

I was reading the Internet movie database and it listed a third Iron Man film slatting for a 2012 release. All I gotta say is "Bring it on Spidey" Spider Man's reboot is released that same summer as well as The Avengers and don't forget, Chritopher Nolan's 3rd installment of Batman. What a great summer for superheroes. Stay tuned for my Iron Man 2 review very soon.

Iron Man 2: Will it surpass the first one?

Thought 1: I have been reading early reviews for the much anticipated Iron Man 2 and I gotta say, they don't seem as good as the previous installment. However, its just a critic like you and me. I will still see the film and expect some great special effects and a solid story. I am planning on seeing it this coming Friday at Springdale 18.

Thought 2: I am really hoping this sequel will not flop like Transformers 2. Yes, it will make the cash, but will it deliver the spirit we know as Iron Man?

Though 3: I try not to spoil myself with all these reviews, but it's everywhere! It will be a big film this weekend and possibly the next coming weeks.

Thought 4: I want another Batman film very soon. July 2012 is too far away!

Well my review will be posted shortly after I see Friday's showing.
Be sure to check in

American History X Movie Review

American History X is one of the most important films ever made. Edward Norton and Edward Furlong star in this masterpiece. The story revolves around a Neo Nazi leader who is put in jail for killing 2 black men who robbed his house. When he gets out he learns his ways and trys to help prevent his younger brother from doing what he once caused. This film is violent and racist in many ways. the whites and blacks are equally racist to one another and gives us the question why we do these things. Edward Norton is at his best while a supporting cast including Edward Furlong equally impreses. a sad triumphant film. Yet it's one of the best. A 10/10
